Dr. Santos has an extensive academic and applied background in Psychology. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. She holds a Master of Science and Doctorate in Psychology from St. John's University.
Dr. Santos is a cognitive-behavioral psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety-based disorders. Dr. Santos collaborated on a TED-Ed Lesson on Debunking the Myths of OCD. Her expertise has been sought for radio and television interviews. Dr. Santos concentrated her studies on school mental health issues and under-represented groups. As a certified bilingual school psychologist, she researched educational issues such as the lack of representation of the culturally-linguistically diverse gifted (CLDG) population, necessary reform of the nation’s gifted education policy, and ethnic disparities in securing autism services.
